Minister Dreeshen Endorses Connecting Canada’s Economy's Corridor Benefit Calculator

We are pleased to extend our appreciation to the Honourable Devin Dreeshen, Alberta’s Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors, for his ongoing support of Connecting Canada’s Economy (CCE) and our Corridor Benefit Calculator.

This tool was developed to clearly show the national economic gains that come from building strong and modern trade corridors.

At CCE, we are proud to work with Minister Dreeshen and with provincial and federal leaders across the country as we raise awareness about the transformational opportunities created by corridor development. Our engagement with governments and industry reflects a shared understanding that expanding Canada’s export capacity is essential to long-term prosperity and improved affordability for all Canadians.

The importance of this work continues to grow. The recent federal budget set an ambitious goal to increase Canada’s trade exports by 300 billion dollars over the next decade. Meeting this target would translate into approximately $7,200 in additional GDP per Canadian, or more than $17,000 per household based on today’s economy.

Our Corridor Benefit Calculator illustrates how strengthening transportation corridors and expanding year-round port and trade infrastructure can help achieve these gains. The scale of these potential economic benefits is matched by very few other national initiatives.

This is why CCE remains committed to ensuring these facts are both known and understood. Through collaboration with leaders like Minister Dreeshen, as well as industry partners, we work to support informed conversations, provide clear and evidence-based insights, and bring decision-makers together around the most significant economic opportunity Canada has before it.
